Charge at home or on the go
Conveniently placed public chargers and simple home charging options help make the transition to electric easy.
Home charging options
Level 1 AC home charging
This charging method uses an existing home power point in combination with Mode 2 cable1.
Level 2 AC home charging
A higher-powered charging unit can be installed at home providing faster output than level 1 AC charging. This is a separately installed unit with its own dedicated cable2.
How Ford can help you set up
The Evie home charging solution provides a comprehensive and user-friendly approach to EV charging, making the process effortless and efficient.
Public charging
Level 2 AC public charging
Dedicated EV chargers can be found at workplaces, shopping centres, or hotels. These are conveniently located and designed to top up your vehicle during typical daily use.
Level 3 DC public charging
The fastest option of them all. Dedicated Level 3 DC charging locations deliver power more rapidly than other options, due to its higher capacity output. It can charge your battery from 10% to 80% in just over 30 mins3.
Charging station booking apps
For convenience there are a number of electric vehicle charging location apps available in Australia. The most popular are Evie, Chargfox, NRMA and Jet Charge. These can be downloaded from the Apple or Android app stores.
Maximising each charge
- Track your battery
You can set your charging schedule, find charging stations and even check your EV charging status through the FordPass4 app on your smartphone.
- Plan for cold weather
Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries work best at warmer temperatures. Cold temperatures can slow down chemical reactions within the battery, which can lead to battery and charging inefficiencies.
- Keep track of your KMs
Bookmark your travel each day or week can help you to understand how often you need to charge your electric vehicle.
- Battery route planning
Using handy tools like Google Maps and FordPass4 app allows you to see charging stations along your travel route.
- Recharge with every brake
Regenerative braking captures the energy that's normally lost when you slow down and uses it to recharge your battery so you can go further on a single charge.
